Massachusetts Begins Recreational Marijuana Sales in Northampton and Leicester
Finally, after voting for recreational sales over 2 years ago, Massachusetts residents and tourist will have a recreational cannabis dispensary open for sales. Yes, it all goes down beginning Tuesday, November 20th, 2018 at 8 am.
On this historic day, New England Treatment Access aka NETA along with Cultivate Holdings will be opening their doors to their regular medical marijuana patients along with adults 21+. NETA Northampton was Western Massachusetts first medical marijuana dispensary to open so it’s no wonder they were also given an early green light on recreational sales.
From what we’ve been told and can see on their social media and website, retail customers are limited to one ounce of flower, or five grams of concentrate, per transaction, and will pay a 20% tax on the purchase. Like any other recreational cannabis dispensary, you need to have an ID showing you are 21+ to enter the shop or make a purchase.
